What Is Yoga Bank

Background

I came up with the idea of ‘YOGA BANK’ after months of teaching online and observing students during the first few weeks of the global coronavirus lockdown.

Frankly, it has changed us all and, in many ways, for the better, I think. Although we have been forced into becoming more (socially) distant, I believe it has also brought us closer together as human beings and I feel my job is to help protect the fate of humanity

The idea

To help people learn techniques and coping mechanisms, in order to manage their well-being and self-care. In simple words GIVE YOGA back to someone who is perhaps struggling either mentally, physically and/or financially during this pandemic.

How we make it possible?

You (student) - donate any desirable amount of money to YOGA BANK by using the "Give Yoga" purchase button.

Me (teacher) – will match your generous transfer and donate my time for practice with those who are in need.

Booking recycling- the money from all bookings cancelled less than 24 hours in advance of a class, will now be transferred to Yoga Bank.

Who are the beneficiaries of YOGA BANK?

Vulnerable and low-income members of our society. Someone we can help feel better mentally and physically, by gifting the opportunity to experience the life changing benefits of yoga. Perhaps you even know someone who you would like nominate?

How will yoga help?

Studies show that yoga is effective in reducing symptoms of depression, fatigue, anxiety, and reduce or act as a buffer against stress, and can often boost a participants’ feeling of self-confidence and self-esteem,

Yoga can be especially helpful for those struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

To conclude, a study of the general benefits of yoga, found that those who engage in the practice regularly, will often experience an increase in self-efficacy and self-confidence, along with increase or enhancement in balance, flexibility, strength, and positivity!

Yoga is only in “fully effective” when both mind and body are completely engaged. The marriage of mental and physical state offers a unique opportunity to make a powerful impact on all forms of one’s health
